The Legal Manager, DEM, Hygiene role is a leadership role, where you will provide legal advice and assistance to RB’s business operations for certain key business units. As a part of this role, you will also lead the legal strategy and implementation of risk management processes in RB Hygiene’s DEM operations in 20+ countries.

Scope & Dimension of the Role

The Legal Manager, DEM, Hygiene role is a part of RB’s global team of legal professionals and support staff based in several locations worldwide.  You must be proactive and collaborative with the functional colleagues in other jurisdictions in order to provide excellent legal advice and support.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities


  • You will design, lead and implement the compliance strategy to quantify, reduce and manage compliance risk within the DEM business operations in matters such as competition law, money laundering, sanctions, bribery, data privacy and RB’s policies and operating model. 
  • Supporting the Compliance department on various matters, including but not limited to anti-bribery, corruption, money laundering, sanctions and investigations on Speak Up cases.
  • Reporting any compliance-related matters promptly to the Regional Legal Director AMEA and the Compliance department.


  • Leading the management of any litigation and dispute resolution and providing practical, commercial and risk-focused advice to the business.
  • Ensuring that cases are adequately defended before quasi-judicial forums.


  • Lead contract negotiations across a range of products, goods and services including inbound procurement and outbound supply services such as exporters and distributors.
  • Effective distribution contract portfolio management.
  • Provide range of standard templates, processes, tools and trackers to standardise processes within the local business and improve on existing legal processes as required to enhance the transparency of the legal process with the local business and optimise legal operations.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities


  • You will lead the legal strategy for strategic corporate projects from time to time.  This will require close attention to detail on multi-jurisdictional and cross-border legal considerations.  You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders including finance, tax, supply and others.


  • Providing local legal support to the Global Brand Protection Team and Global Patents Team.
  • Advising and providing prompt updates on matters and complying with the brand protection strategy as directed by brand protection team.


  • Leading legal contact for all local advertising and marketing matters.
  • Providing support on advertising and marketing law including competitive product claims, pack, copy and advertising materials clearance for RB’s range of products.
  • Being the key lead contact for the relevant local authorities

  • You must be independent and able to work on your own and demonstrate that you can deliver results and advice without reliance on external advice.

Professional Qualification & Experience

  • You should be a qualified lawyer with 5+ years post qualification experience.  Leadership experience and post graduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • In-house work experience is highly advantageous. Work experience in consumer goods / Pharma / Healthcare is highly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong legal competencies in:
    • Core areas of contract law, corporate, commercial law, intellectual property and compliance matters such as bribery laws, competition law and data privacy.good awareness of labour and employment matters, product liability and factory-related laws; and
    • marketing, advertising & litigation experience

Competencies Required

  • You must have a detailed and broad knowledge of a range of legal aspects including civil, criminal and corporate matters.
  • You are expected to understand and act on legal implications, which may not be apparent to those without the expertise, and also communicate those implications effectively to internal stakeholders.
  • You must have a sound analytical ability to assess potential risks, flag them and build adequate safeguard to avoid negative implications is a necessity.
  • Sensitivity in dealing with regulators is essential
