Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting ESC (plant) operations, innovation and non-innovation projects for the organization. This position applies structured problem solving analysis to provide timely, data based solutions to product and process issues. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

•    Develops manufacturing batch record in Optiva and coordinates with other departments to launch SKUs.
•    Administers the PRODCALC database and supports Manufacturing Batch Record/Recipe alignment. 
•    Manage addenda and coordination with planning (creating, obsoletion).
•    Actively works with Senior engineers to optimize processes for quality, efficiency, and productivity.
•    Contributes to resolution of product processing problems using structured problem resolution and effectively communicating technical recommendations, both written and verbally.
•    Provides input into deviation investigations.
•    Demonstrates computational skills and basic algebra application in material balances and process scale-up calculations for the preparation and verification of production manufacturing instructions.
•    Provides input into corrective actions for audits & follow ups.
•    Provides input to automation and engineering on processes/products.
•    Applies basic understanding of equipment operation, software control, product formulations and raw material ingredient functionality for product and processing support of nutritional production operations.
•    Drives process change with the initiation of change control. Develops qualification/testing protocols, manages documentation and verification analysis and communicates change control results. 
•    Understands and promotes the importance of adherence to GMP, FDA, and local regulatory requirements in the production of product for human consumption.
•    Facilitates development of production operators process knowledge and understanding of quality. 


Job Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in chemistry, engineering, industrial hygiene or a closely related scientific field. 
•    Assisted with execution of technical projects in a lab or manufacturing environment.
•    Experience in collecting information and transforming this into usable information.
•    Experience with written and oral communication in a general work environment as well as communicating technical information.
•    Experience in handling multiple projects at one time.
