Product Development Manager, Specialty IFCN

Product Development Manager Specialty IFCN role is a member of the broader Innovation Product Development team.  The PD Manager is responsible for leading/managing a team of Assistants and Scientists, serving as a technical leader for the Global Specialty Portfolio, and representing the Product Development function on the cross-functional Global Specialty CIRM activities.

  • Partnering cross-functionally and cross-regionally to deliver commercially viable nutritional products for toddlers and children.
  • Serve as the lead Scientist representing Global Product Development on the Specialty CIRM by leading the Product Development analysis of the Specialty Innovation Portfolio and managing/guiding the function’s inputs and recommendations.
  • This position, as a member of a multi-functional global team co-located with regional product developers in North America, develops products and formulations that fulfil nutritional, regulatory, and consumer requirements and expectations.
  • Accomplishment of assigned tasks implies high levels of independence and leadership.  It includes planning, execution and evaluation of experiments from bench-top, pilot trial, plant trial, and through to commercialization.
  • The PD Manager effectively serves as the Product Development representative on innovation project teams and sometimes as the R&D Lead owning the development process and results.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master or Doctoral Science Degree (Food/Nutritional Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other relevant science preferred)
  • >10 years relevant experience in food industry is required.
  • Industry experience in dairy systems/foods is preferred. 
  • Experience in development of products where the nutritional profile and extended shelf life are critical is preferred.
  • Previous experience managing/leading people is required. 
  • Working knowledge of protein, fat, carbohydrate, additive functionality, flavors and their interactions in retorted liquids, aseptically processed liquids, and powders is required.
