R&D Operations Americas Project Manager

Summary

The role of a project manager in R&D Operations is to plan, manage and track the implementation of R&D projects and activities within the infant and child nutrition portfolios, supporting the delivery of complex projects and recommending options to ensure that milestone plans are met. The project manager is responsible for project timeline, budgets and driving cross functional leadership to ensure all technical aspects of a project are delivered.

Responsibilities
  • Support R&D Senior Manager in the leadership of projects within infant and child nutrition portfolio
  • Identify, highlight, track and manage project risk
  • Maintain relevant project tracking tools employed by the business
  • Support and lead the preparation of project and team status updates required by the business
  • Influence the business case and key stakeholders to ensure successfully project delivery
  • Act as key contact for cross functional partners, holding people accountable for commitments associated with project delivery
  • Track budget and milestones and highlight issues promptly to ensure effective project delivery
  • Provide input as needed to other functions e.g. packaging and regulatory to support projects
  • Develop suitable links with suppliers and other experts to drive forward projects
  • Be aware of and utilise functional best practice both within and external to RB 
  • Oversee and maintain team compliance with RB working practices e.g. change management
Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to at least degree level in a relevant field. Scientific background preferred (Food/Nutritional Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant science).
  • Formal Project Management training (PMP or equivalent) or demonstrated experience in Project Management preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience with a proven track record of delivery preferably within an FMCG environment
  • An excellent problem solver
  • Proven track record in collaboration communication
  • Experience with resource planning and prioritization
  • Ability to deliver through others
  • Understanding of Research and Development, specifically nutritional and food science or similar preferred
