Reliability Technician-Mechanical Facilities HVAC

Perform multi-craft tasks in the areas of facilities maintenance with a key focus on HVAC and Chiller operations. Act as the lead in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC, Chillers, plumbing systems and building assets. This position will interact on a daily basis with area maintenance personnel, contractors, and site supervision.

Key Responsibilities

•    Complete all maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Facilities management through the CMMS system.
•    Monitors, operates, adjusts, maintains, and repairs building systems and equipment for assigned facilities as necessary.
•    Troubleshoot and repair issues in a production environment including, but not limited to: HVAC, Drains, VFD’s, Pumps, Motors
•    Perform preventative maintenance including, but not limited to equipment inspections, filter changes, belt changes, motor replacements and HVAC overhaul.
•    Perform assigned chiller maintenance and troubleshooting task safely in a manufacturing/processing setting
•    Experienced in troubleshooting and servicing glycol, screw, absorption, and reciprocating chillers
•    Assist manufacturing representatives, Project Engineering, Contract Engineering, and departmental personnel on new equipment installation. 
•    Utilize electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment systems
•    Provide input for planned equipment maintenance
•    Exhibit a sense of urgency around work order completion and documentation of work performed.
•    Ability to balance safety, quality and productivity while performing work according to all applicable GMP environmental regulations 



•    Have a two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Technology (or equivalent), plus at least three (3) year of experience in HVAC and Chiller operations.
•    Have completed a certified machine repair apprenticeship program (or equivalent), plus at least two (2) years’ experience, or have a minimum of three (3) years of industrial mechanical/HVAC maintenance experience
•    Have strong team oriented skills and excellent interpersonal skills,
•    Be a self-starter, be able to work effectively with minimal supervision, and good organizational and planning skills,
•    Be willing to learn new job-related skills and have good troubleshooting and analytical skills.


NOTE:  This position will require the employee to work with chemical, radiological, or biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled (including agents which may potentially affect reproduction or the fetus).  Employees will be required to follow all safety procedures and use personal protective clothing/equipment where specified.
