Sr. Automation Engineer

Description
  • Perform ladder logic and HMI programming – for both existing and new systems
  • Develop and implement automation strategies
  • Develop and cultivate technical experience within team
  • Lead Automation capital projects from design thru debug, as well as some non-Automation projects
  • As a Capital Project Manager – manage all facets of the project, including safety, project timelines, budgets, start-up, etc.
  • Write business cases for capital projects, including preparing and issuing funding requests
  • Perform troubleshooting of control systems working closely with electrical maintenance and operators
  • Create training instructions and standard operating procedures
Qualifications
  • B. S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in an Automation Engineer and/or Process Control Engineer role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading a technical team and implementing Automation solutions in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Food Safety, PLC HMI/SCADA, and Data Historians
  • Hardware: Allen Bradley PLC-5, ControlLogix, Powerflex VFD, PanelView
  • Software: RSLogix Platform, Asset Centre, Factory Talk View, GE Ifix/IBatch, OSI PI, SQL Database and Ignition
