Head of Quality, Zeeland

Job Advert

•    Work with site Leadership to develop program strategies and manage day-to-day implementation and execution of the Food Safety Management System – including HACCP and all HACCP Pre-Requisite Programs 
•    Ensure compliance to food safety and quality management systems by providing direction, coaching and support to employees 
•    Establish strategies to achieve the Quality vision, as well as meaningful metrics and effective communication structure to focus improvement and priorities
•    Conducts thorough and careful analysis of data, gathers critical information, and effectively allocates resources
•    Facilities rapid and complete resolution of operational observations and non-conformities and works to develop continuous improvement strategies and priorities
•    Directs special investigations and consumer complaints and assists with the identification of root cause and the development of corrective action plans of quality events at the site
•    Leads QA team in ensuring early identification of requirements and best practices for quality requirements of capital projects
•    Ensures site complies to all regulatory requirements and international standards including U.S. FDA and Codex Alimentarius
•    Leads the development of all documentation that describes testing strategies
•    Responsible for the testing strategies, management of laboratory operations and testing for all finished product, intermediates, stability, consumer complaints, and raw materials. Works to proactively manage any release delays due to test and alerts stakeholders when delays in testing results will occur.
•    Manages the Annual Product Review process for the site and ensure that needed corrective action plans are identified and prioritized
•    Ability to effectively troubleshoot quality issues and make decisions
•    Represent or assign QA resources for capital project teams for the review of quality improvements or changes
•    Manages organizational budget responsibilities for quality organization for the site
•    Collaborates with Manufacturing, Procurement, R&D peers and other Supply Chain support areas in order to efficiently implement Quality Improvement

 

Qualifications
•    Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering , Microbiology or  related degree
•    At least a total of 10 years experience in manufacturing, sanitation, or QA/QC
•    Must have profound knowledge in food safety and in quality systems
•    Knowledge of quality systems such as SAP, GLIMS, and Optiva
•    Microbiological knowledge preferred
•    Good people development skills and communication skills
•    Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills are essential
•    Demonstrate achievements within a competitive business environment where change in business dynamics plays a major role
•    A driven, motivated leadership approach is expected which will be utilized in gaining support and alignment from management and business parties
•    Strong communication skills and the ability to interact and work with others on a daily basis
•    Ability to travel domestically or internationally 5-10%
