This exciting new role is part of our Global Safety Assurance (GSA) team, which has the responsibility of ensuring the safety of all innovative and marketed products, driving safety by design and ensuring the application of risk assessment and safety compliance across the business.  It has the key goals of:

•    Demonstrating a world-leading approach to taking responsibility for consumers’ safety.
•    Integrating safety throughout the Product Lifecycle, in a way that is both proactive and reactive to real-world events.
•    Building a strong internal and external presence, as guardians of consumer safety.

As Senior Category Safety Manager, you’ll use your blend of technical and business partnering skills to:

•    Function as GSA’s Primary Point of Contact (PPOC) for senior stakeholders within the Global Air Care and Pest categories, supporting the Airwick, Mortein and associated local brands across the globe.
•    Partner with R&D Category and Business Unit leadership to ensure alignment of short, medium and long-range strategies.
•    Equip GSA with business strategy insights to allow appropriate planning and readiness.
•    Provide stakeholders with business-relevant insight into emerging safety trends.


You’ll succeed because… 
…you have a strong business partner mindset and a passion for defining the future of product safety in these exciting and fast moving global product categories. Qualified to MSc/PhD or equivalent, you have:

-    Extensive product safety leadership experience in relevant FMCG product category(ies), e.g. pesticides, biocides, detergents, fragrances, raw materials, cosmetics.
-    Extensive experience of medical or non-clinical safety, including product safety management.
-    The ability to influence and gain followership in opinion shaping.
-    The ability to critically appraise scientific data across multiple technical areas.
-    The ability to translate complex scientific detail into lay language
-    Strong understanding of, and ability to thrive in, complex organisations through excellent networking skills.
-    Knowledge of relevant regulatory environments and their related safety requirements e.g. pesticides, biocides, detergents, fragrances, commodity chemicals, cosmetics.
