Reports to:      Senior Associate Aircare US Innovation Hub

 

Role Purpose: •    Implement assigned delivery projects and initiatives, from proof of principle feasibility to successful launch in support of Aircare US market

Accountabilities
  • To deliver assigned projects and activities for the introduction of new US Aircare products in line with the defined Category Strategy
  • Work closely with the Sensory team to ensure that projects and technologies are transferred seamlessly and supported to become successful market launches
  • Work internally on next generation products and ‘new news’ opportunities
  • With the Senior Associate, generate the technical content of Project Development Briefs and ensure that all R&D sections are complete and consistent. 
  • To develop a working commercial knowledge and a network with the Category Team(s) to understand their needs, thus ensuring proper response to business needs.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that all development activities on assigned projects conforms to legislative, Health and Safety and environmental requirements, including the adoption and tracking of laboratory best practices
  • Understanding of consumer needs and insights for Air Care, underpinning product development and delivery and resulting in exciting and relevant new ideas and opportunities appropriate for Core formats and the wider Air Care portfolio.
  • To support the technical delivery of Fragrance Events
  • Provide the business with access to data, samples, and information from external parties to facilitate development
  • Understanding of consumer needs and insights for Air Care, underpinning product development and delivery and resulting in exciting and relevant new ideas and opportunities appropriate for the assigned formats and the wider Air Care portfolio.
  • Support local ideation process to feed the Global pipeline (NPD/EPD/Claim & BDIs)
  • Map local competition, include in the database and submit samples for benchmarking analysis
Key Challanges
  • Develop products which are consumer and business relevant which are technically novel.
  • Deliver projects in an efficient, cost effective and convincing manner, ensuring sufficient resources are available.
  • To use a wide breadth of view when analysing a challenge, whilst maintaining a focus on the objectives.
  • Ensuring key stakeholders are appropriately communicated.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelors degree in relevant scientific discipline.
  • Strong technical management skills that can be applied in a technology delivery environment. A proven track record of results.
  • Technical expertise and curiosity with the ability to develop technologies across categories. Ability to become the RB ‘expert’ in product implementation and launch areas as needed.
  • A bias for action. Extremely focussed to ensure that experimental programmes meet objectives. The ability to overcome obstacles by getting support from others and strong problem solving skills. 
  • Good communicator coupled with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. 
  • A desire to better understand the consumer to deliver new benefits through technologies.
  • Ability to understand requirements during practical implementation of innovation at a manufacturing set up is essential.
