Area IT Director - NA, Health

The IT Director, North America holds a key leadership position within the North America business team and global IT organization. The role holder will bring transformational capability to the business unit, inspiring the use of innovative new IT solutions which are scaled from the markets and globally. The role holder will have the strategic and commercial insight to build great relationships at a senior level and will have the ability to present IT solutions to support the business plan. The IT Director – North America is responsible for owning the IT relationship between the North America area leadership team and the IT organization, both locally and globally. It will be key to the role to be able to shape the demand coming from the North American team, identifying existing and new solutions available from IT, and managing the demand for the IT functions. The role will play a key leadership position in driving the value we have from IT solutions through embedding the solutions into regular utilization in business functions. 

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Build strong relationships with the senior leadership community across the North America area.
•    Work with this group to identify and shape IT demand with North America leaders that will support and drive performance against the business strategy.
•    Play an active role in the North American leadership team, helping to shape the business and IT strategies.
•    Manage the demand governance process into the IT Transformation functions to support the delivery of key programs.
•    Ensure that the business areas have a good understanding of progress and of requirements of new IT capabilities.
•    Understand and manage interdependencies between Continuous Improvement (CI), medium-sized projects, including operations (infrastructure & network) and Cyber related changes, and Major Programs.
•    Work closely with Project Managers and Program Managers to actively identify and mitigate risks on delivery from IT teams through creation of risk mitigation plans.
•    Work closely with Project Managers and Program Managers to create stakeholder maps to ensure relevant stakeholders are informed of interdependencies, risks, deliverables, key dates etc.
•    Create a robust mechanism to coordinate information and performance monitoring of the delivery of requests for change through excellent stakeholder management, including status reporting, risk and issue analysis and cost control analysis/forecast review.
•    Work with the Governance team to provide input into the continuous improvement and definition of the overall quality strategy and procedures.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
•    At least 10 years’ management experience in a multinational organization.
•    Extensive experience of managing senior stakeholder relationships on behalf of IT.
•    Able to think strategically, creatively and to see the bigger picture.
•    Able to deal with conflict and mediate.
•    Able to deal with ambiguity and cope with change.
•    Previous experience in Consumer Good, Personal Hygiene or Healthcare Markets.
•    Educated in Business discipline or Computer Science to degree level, or equivalent experience.
