Key Account Manager - New Business

An exciting new opportunity is available for a Key Account Manager, Specialty and Naturals Channels to join our Sales team in Parsippany, NJ.  Reporting into the Team Lead, New Business Development, this role seeks to close identified customer / distribution gaps and identify and commercialize new opportunities.


About the role 

The Key Account Manager has the responsibility to drive the customer strategy across all RB Health categories for Naturals and Specialty customers, executing business growth plans as set by the Sales Leadership Team, as well as identifying, owning and delivering on new growth platforms within this market. Key areas of focus include optimizing business performance in order to achieve company goals (including sales, profit, new item listings, deduction management) and building sustainable partnerships with key customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage customer relationships with buyers; build customer and channel strategy ensuring local RB business objectives are achieved
  • Achieve / exceed all key sales measures and target for the channel (NR, COP, NWC and Trade Spend)
  • Work in close partnership with brand marketing to ensure development and implementation of customer category strategy and best in class 4P execution
  • Develop promotional strategy with customers, and promotional execution (including trade budget management, range and space optimization)
  • Manage customer negotiations in relation to RB commercial strategy and customer trading terms
  • Overall continuous improvement – identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability
  • Use knowledge of markets, brand and category strategies across a broad customer base to anticipate and act on trends
  • Conduct proactive business reviews identifying issues / opportunities / action 
  • Create and execute sales plans for short, medium and long-term activities 
  • Achieve closure on all prepared objectives and find new and innovative opportunities
  • Articulate and shape financial impact of decisions
  • Use detailed data to identify plans for the sales function and service support from the entire organization
  • Partner with Demand Planning to ensure Customer Service levels are met / exceeded
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years of related Sales experience, preferably within Specialty and / or Naturals Channels
  • Analytical ability to understand the business trends and provide projections based on that insight
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Agility to create collaborative environments internally and externally
  • Working knowledge of FMCG industry and distribution networks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that are effective across the organization 
  • Proven capabilities to personally organize and plan effectively
  • Possesses the ability to think creatively to address new issues and identify business building ideas
