About the Role

As part of NA procurement team, the Senior Buyer will support the Global Purchasing Team to help develop and implement supplier sourcing strategies as well as negotiations for globally managed raw materials. The position will also be responsible for managing high profile projects to support new product launches and cost reduction programs as well as the management of COG’s and payment terms  in support of  net revenue, gross margin and NWC  improvement.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the development and implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement processes for a defined portfolio of global commodities.
  • Interaction and influence with Global Buyers on alignment of strategic direction for commodities and suppliers to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Represent ENA Purchasing in meetings with Regional as well as Global supplier representatives to manage/develop relationships as well as enforce global strategies.
  • Responsible for any sourcing/negotiations as assigned and agreed to with Global Purchasing.
  • Develop in-depth raw material market knowledge and cost infrastructure in order to support Global negotiations/strategy, reduce volatility, financial forecasting and ensure supply.
  • Support Vendor Development initiatives for launch of new products and projects in conjunction with Global and Local buyers, Demand Planning, Marketing and R&D.
  • Project management of new products to ensure that materials will be sourced on time and within budget to meet target launch dates.
  • Achieve optimum cost while ensuring high level of quality/service targets.  Lead & drive quality and service improvement strategies.
  • Develops and implements business continuity plans in order to ensure supply of assigned raw materials.
  • Conduct commodity/formula benchmark studies with ENA counterparts as well as with other RB regions.
  • Development and analysis of costing for new products.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • BS, BA degree in business, manufacturing, engineering, finance or other relevant discipline.  MBA advantageous
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience - progressively responsible assignments in Procurement/commodity management preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated success of completing business improvement projects such as cost reductions and business simplification processes.
  • Must have the ability to lead cross functionally with Marketing, Supply, R&D and Finance to promote change, drive efficiencies and make cost savings impact on the business.
  • Structured, analytical and results-oriented
  • Able to effectively communicate and to effect change with internal budget owners, peers, senior management and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a truly global organization.  Proven experience in working in a fast moving and results driven environment which demands to work under continuous pressure.
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) on an ad-hoc basis
  • Future international mobility preferred
