Job Advert

We are one of the worlds’ leading FMCG companies. Our focus on cutting-edge science and our strong sense of social responsibility has enabled us to help people lead healthier lives for nearly 200 years. Our business is dynamic, our teams are diverse and the purpose and vision we all share have made RB the unique, leading global consumer health, nutrition and hygiene company it is today.  Our iconic brands are known globally, and include Air Wick, Nurofen, Vanish, Infamil, Gaviscon, Finish, and Durex, to name just a few.

The RB pre-registration pharmacy training programme is split. Each pre-registration pharmacist will spend six months at RB and six months with our community pharmacy partner, Day Lewis, in a patient-facing environment.

You will have the opportunity to be based in one of the following RB sites:
•    Our global headquarters in Slough, Berkshire.
•    Our commercial business located near our global headquarters in Slough.
•    Our new £105 million Science & Innovation Centre in Hull, our largest global Health Research & Development Centre.

What you can expect:
Our programme is a comprehensive course to prepare you for the registration assessment and the journey to becoming a newly qualified pharmacist. The programme is mapped to the GPhC pre-registration pharmacist training requirements.

You will complete most of their training in the Medical Affairs department. The Medical Affairs function is a key partner to the business and is involved throughout the lifecycle of each healthcare product we market. We provide our expertise from the initial scoping of projects to the post-launch phase. Some activities might include:
•    Exposure to clinical trial design, use of real-world data and consumer insights
•    Advertising regulation and claim substantiation
•    Understanding of the pharmacovigilance process
•    Medical enquiries from consumers and health care professionals
•    Exposure to research and development where you will gain experience in drug development, formulation design, sensorial science and packaging
•    Gain understanding of the marketing and sales function

During the placement with RB you will cover all the GPhC competencies. In addition, you will start to develop other transferable skills. You will get an opportunity to build on your presentation skills throughout key points in the programme. This will enable you to communicate effectively, engage the audience and exert confidence. You will of course receive enough study time throughout the duration of the programme, and will also attend locally organised study days with other pre-registration pharmacists where you will gain knowledge of the clinical aspects of pharmacy.

CLOSING DATE: 18th April 2021                     START DATE: AUGUST 2022
