Reckitt, the home of global household brands such as Dettol, Durex, Finish has launched a new venture division, which will scale the next generation of purpose-driven startups in the hygiene, health and nutrition sectors. Investing in early-stage businesses, the venture is focused on collaborating with founders who share Reckitt’s ‘fight for access’ mission, with the goal of making high-quality hygiene, health and nutrition a right, not a privilege.

We are recruiting for a Venture Investment Manager to lead the investment lifecycle. The job holder will have a genuine interest in new age consumer brands and enjoys analysing, investing in and supporting early stage companies.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead all aspects of the investment process through the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and financing of transactions, and supporting the Director of Ventures in defining portfolio strategy.
  • Deal scouting and network strategy to ensure strong pipeline and market knowledge
  • Build out sector maps and deep dives to support the investment strategy
  • Build strategic financial analysis and deal structuring to analyse potential for investments
  • Lead negotiation of funding deals for investments
  • Ensure strategic plan and financial planning functions work collaboratively
  • Prepare materials for and support investment committee sessions
  • Occasionally engage in M&A activity
     

We are looking for:

  • Experience at a top-tier Venture Capital fund, Accelerator or Venture Builder, Investment bank or strategy consulting firm with exposure to consumer goods sector.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills – the ability to run quantitative analysis and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to convert complex concepts into simple, well-articulated comms (power point) to suit the audience (from board meetings to townhalls).
  • Entrepreneurial drive – has creative, internal drive and motivation to constantly challenge status
  • Proactive and adaptable – willing to respond positively to changing circumstances; the ability to spot opportunities and risks, and act to get to the best outcome 
  • Resilience to handle and resolve complexity and ambiguity
