Responsibilities

 

•    Manage procurement category/categories in North America.
•    Monitor vendor performance (OTIF) & take corrective actions.
•    Work in close coordination with R&D to support new product developments, identify or generate cost saving initiative projects and support implementation within aggressive timelines.
•    Present to senior management whenever required.
•    Support Vendor Development initiatives for launch of major new products and projects in conjunction with Global and Local buyers, packaging engineering, planning cell, marketing and R&D.
•    Consistently benchmarks key pricing points and provides analytical support derived from operational, technical and financial inputs to identify leverage points for negotiations.
•    Monitor realization of cost savings and ensures price changes are reconciled in the accounting system. 
•    Achieve optimum cost while ensuring high level of quality/service and the respect of delivery targets.
•    Primary contact between the factory and Central Purchasing (CP) and interact with Local and Global commodity buyers 
•    Performs monthly Purchase price variance analysis and implements action plans
•    Responsible for strategic sourcing, cost optimization and net working capital improvement of Non-Production Spend in the factory.
•    Maintain scorecards in the factory. Chase inputs from other functions and support CP in case of specific investigation related to supplier performance assessment.

 

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Non-Production Spend and Procurement Project Management in a multi-country environment.
  • Degree qualified preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline. MBA advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a truly global organisation. Proven experience working in a fast moving, results driven environment.
  • High degree of fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage
  • High level negotiation, influencing and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving
  • Team working abilities and commitment
  • Keen attention to detail
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Ability to deal with large amounts of data and to organise data methodically and systematically
