Associate Director, Finance, Taiwan Health

Key Roles

•    Lead and manage the Taiwan finance team and support business growth by providing proactive business analytics and salient commercial advice.
•    Drive strategic resource allocation and investments, ensuring optimal returns are achieved and outperformance against cluster targets.
•    In-charge of the overall accounting and control environment of the business.  It requires a strong financial leadership to deliver the company’s long-term business and control objectives.
•    The ability to highlight salient issues, challenge the status quo, initiate improvements and influence a variety of personnel at various levels throughout the business.
•    The ability to work through a series of issues independently, demonstrates business acumen, contributes to a different way of doing business, materialises opportunities at a reduced cost with higher returns
 

Responsibilities


•    Assesses operational and financial risks and leads development of contingency plans to ensure financial commitments are achieved.
•    Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting which reflects real business results, interfaces effectively with cluster management and regional office, and brings a global and regional perspective on financial matters to achieve complete transparency of transactions.
•    Identifies opportunities and advocates change to financial and non-financial processes which drive productivity and compliance with RB policies.
•    Analyses situations and trends to develop and recommend options, contributing to management decisions on strategy and ways to meet financial commitments.
•    Utilizes relationships and credibility to influence country and cluster management to set aggressive forecasts in order to increase cluster profitability.
•    Ensures that all budget holders are fully aware of their individual responsibilities and take ownership of their financial results and impact they have on the local performance targets.
•    Builds and maintains strong cross-functional relationships, as well as across business units.  Maintains good relationships with all RB divisions to promote effective and efficient operations and to ensure financial integrity through all business units.
•    Exhibits exemplary standards of integrity by ensuring complete understanding and compliance with RB accounting policies, standard operating procedures, internal control standards and ethical behaviours.
•    Ensures that financial and business processes comply with RB Accounting Policies and Global Financial Compliance Framework.
•    Develops and communicates financial vision that is aligned with the overall business strategy and direction.
•    Takes lead in the budget and forecast exercises.  Controls of company fixed costs and ensure that the company operating profits are always protected.
•    Proactive management of the company’s Net Working Capital by closely monitoring the right level of inventory, receivables and payables.
•    Lead the annual audit of distributors and media agencies and manage any irregularity found.
•    Handle all statutory tax filings by ensuring adherence to corporate and local statutory tax regulations.  Work with corporate tax team and external tax consultants to attend to enquiries from tax authorities.
•    Review all statutory audit reports before directors’ sign-off and attend to all external audit matters.
•    Be the key interface with internal audit and ensure implementation of corrective action plans.
•    Be an active contributor in cost optimisation initiatives; e.g. warehouse & logistic costs, freight costs, T&E, etc.
•    Review of all commercial contracts to ensure that contractual clauses are favourable to the business.
•    Lead and coach a team of subordinates and ensure a robust and stable team structure.

Professional Qualification/ Abilities

•    Bachelor or Master degree in business / finance discipline, CPA / CA required.
•    A minimum of 12 years of experience in finance or finance leadership position.
•    Consumer health business experience, especially in FMCG and infant formula business is preferred.
•    Experience in multinational companies with multi-product finance roles is highly preferred.
•    Excellent data analysis, communications and presentation skills.
•    Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese.
