Data Privacy Lawyer, Hygiene/Home


RB’s internal GDPR compliance programme is aimed at maintaining and enhancing privacy by design within its business. The Data Privacy Lawyer, Hygiene & Home will play an important role in ensuring ongoing GDPR compliance in all Eastern European markets of RB Hygiene & Home Business Unit (HyHo). 


As the Data Privacy Lawyer you will be responsible for:


•    Drawing on expert knowledge of data protection and privacy to provide high-quality and timely legal advice on compliance to key stakeholders in RB’s European markets; 
•    Enhancing Privacy Network by building strong relationships with Heads of Privacy, Privacy Champions and the business in RB’s Eastern European markets; 
•    Advising on and structuring digital, e-commerce, marketing and other projects with data protection implication including mapping data flows, advising on information privacy practices, implementation of appropriate technical and organizational measures; 
•    Updating personal data processing register on One Trust through conducting regular meetings with Privacy Champions and the business, launching and approving Privacy Impact Assessments and, if required, Legitimate Impact Assessments for new processing activities, assisting the business in completing the Privacy Impact Assessment questionnaires and other internal privacy forms; 
•    Providing expert input into Privacy Impact Assessments, Legitimate Impact Assessments and data mapping, and identifying risks and registering them on One Trust;
•    Supporting the business on Data Subject Access Requests;
•    Advising on the management and resolution of incidents involving personal data; 
•    Preparing, updating, translating and communicating policies, procedures and notices;
•    Fostering a culture of data protection by providing GDPR related trainings to the business;
•    Ensuring that data retention periods are respected by business;
•    Sharing best practices and knowledge across EU markets with HyHo Legal and Compliance team;
•    Conducting GDPR gap risk assessments, creating and implementing mitigation plan.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:


•    Qualification in one of the EU countries academic qualification in law;
•    2+ years of experience in a similar type of role in a multinational business;
•    Good working knowledge of EU General Data Protection Regulation, European Data Protection Board Guidance and GDPR-like laws applicable in the Eastern European jurisdictions; 
•    A flexible and creative lawyer with an international orientation;
•    Fluency in English is essential, any additional languages would be advantageous;
•    Flexibility to regularly travel in the EU (2 weeks/month) according to the business needs;
•    Strong project management skills;
•    Ability to establish strong working relationships with highly demanding internal clients and other stakeholders in a multicultural and multidisciplinary context, team-player;
•    Ability to work with a significant degree of autonomy, to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects, ability to work under pressure.
