Integration Analyst

The Integration developer will be mainly responsible for the design and development of APIs and interfaces using MuleESB. This role will be part of the DevOps team that is expected to operate using Agile methodology. It is expected that the individual is able to work independently with minimal management oversight and deliver high quality designs and code for RB’s software integration needs.

 

Scope:

 

  • The right candidate will work with project teams and business analysts to translate business requirements to technical solution.
  • They will design and develop APIs and interfaces using RAML, WSDL
  • They need to demonstrate at least 3 years of hands on experience with MuleESB 
  • They need to demonstrate at least 5 years of hands on experience in IT
  • They will provide hands-on application of integration technologies and processes to support proof-of-concept development, review of critical systems and training to other teams within the organization.
  • They will support the Enterprise Architect and ICC lead in defining and managing the architecture and technology governance processes for the RB integration technology landscape.
  • The right candidate will support the ICC lead on integration technology vendors, service providers and SI supplier engagement, direction, management and oversight
  • The right candidate will be a coach and mentor to the integration competency centre team and provide technical oversight to others.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Drives RB standards for integration technology and ensures that adherence to our standards are followed by projects.
  • Designs and develops integration solutions using MuleESB and associated technologies
  • May be required to function as an integration lead on projects of any size as necessary and lead developers from Sis.
  • Communicates detailed technical information in both written and verbal form across a wide range of audiences, including business stakeholders, users, developers and management
  • Develops a sound understanding of existing systems and processes, their strengths and limitations, and the current and future needs of the environment in which they exist. Provides vision on how they may be improved and developed.
  • Understands and explains the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluates the impact of changes or additions to the environment.
  • Acts as an escalation point for the integration team members and provides hands on expertise.
  • Applies strong analysis, research and problem-solving skills across a wide array of systems and situations, including those which may be unfamiliar, in order to address critical issues.

 

Key Challenges:

  • RB has a complex IS landscape that reflects the rapid growth and the global nature of the business. This needs to be streamlined at the same time as driving large scale IS projects forward.  This role will need to quickly establish an in depth understanding of the current landscape so that scalable and affordable integration solutions to projects 

 

Skills & Experience required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of development experience on MuleESB and associated technologies
  • Minimum of 2 years of Administration, configuration on MuleESB and CloudHub
  • Minimum of 1 year of performance turning of integration solutions using MuleESB and CloudHub
  • Minimum of 2 years of Administration and configuration experience in 3 of the 4 following areas:
    • Web servers such as apache
    • Queuing systems such as ActiveMQ
    • Version control systems such as SVN/GitHub
    • CICD tools such as Jenkins, Maven
  • Technical exposure to Red Hat LINUX, UNIX, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, J2EE, .NET and other technologies such as VBScript, TCP/IP, XML, C++, JavaScript.
  • 2+ years of Java and J2EE programming skills will be highly desirable
